Grey's Anatomy 9/29/11

It looks like they are getting back to the basics with this show.  I loved the competition between the residents because that is what it has been about since the beginning of the show.  Who was going to get the first solo, who was going to diagnose the patient, who was hooking up with who?  The show has always been about the spectacularly weird case (like the lady whose heart catches on fire during surgery) and how each of the residents react to each other and their relationships.  I absolutely love Bailey.  She is hilarious even when she means to be serious.  And I love how the men are intimidated by her.

The Meredith/Derek drama at the hospital was starting to get old, but I loved the scenes at the end when they are talking at their house.  I think that if they don't work on cases together for awhile, then they might be able to stay together.  Hopefully they will get Zola back and soon.

I can't wait to watch next weeks episode.  Grey's Anatomy from the view of the men at the hospital.  I think it will be fun to watch and also pretty funny.

Criminal Minds 9/28/11

Ok, normally I can watch this show and not be affected by anything that they show.  They have had some seriously messed up stories and have shown some really gruesome things.  However, this episode actually had me hitting the mute button on the remote a few times.  Where in the world do they find these actors/actresses?  The screams were enough to freak me out.  It wasn't even the grossest subject matter, but listening to the screams gave me the willies.

To recap, the killer was a mentally impaired adult who was fixated on his brothers wife.  In high school they were at a party where they were playing "Spin the Bottle", and the girl let him feel her up.  When he mentioned it to his brother, the brother didn't believe him and that set the guy off in a rage.  He was now kidnapping women that looked like his sister-in-law and if they were grossed out by how he looked, he burned their eyes.  If they didn't like how something tasted, he would cut the tongue.  Basically, he took away the sense that repulsed them.  For the final victim, he took his niece, who looked like her mother.  She was repulsed by him touching her and he burned her hands.  He would videotape the disfigurements and the father watched what his brother did to his daughter.  In the end, they were able to catch him and save the girl.

The end of the show was awesome, when they all were at Rossi's house getting a cooking lesson.  It was nice to see the whole group together and it looks like Reid will forgive JJ.

Castle 9/26/11

Have I mentioned that I love this show?  Castle's one liners are absolutely hilarious.  "He's half the man he used to be."  And its said with such deadpan humor until no one understands and he gets a little ticked.  I think the humor really works for this show and helps it to be a breakout amongst other cop shows.  I mean really, how many times can you do a show about cops arresting people and keep it new and exciting.  I was surprised by the cop being involved at the end and didn't think that the bad guy was the one they revealed in the end.  I kind of wish it was the cop though.  Just like it was hard for Beckett to interview her, it would've been tough for her to arrest her after hearing about how she was trying to get justice for people who have been hurt by the bad guys.

Can't wait until next week!!

Dancing with the Stars (DWTS from now on) 9/26/11

Another interesting show.  I liked Rob and Nancy and even enjoyed JR Martinez.  I was bored to death with Maks and Hope, Val and Elisabetta and David Arquette tried but didn't really do much for me.  I was surprised with David.  I would have thought that a fast-paced dance would have been perfect for him.  It was almost like his tempo for this week should've been there last week and vice versa.

I can understand Chaz not doing that good of a job with his knee issues.  I can relate to that!!  I hope he makes it further in the competition because America needs to see someone who is transgendered on national tv.  Maybe that can make being LGBT more mainstream and not so scary.  I mean, he looks like a regular person.  It might be hard to tell that he was once a woman if you didn't know about it already, you'd just think he was gay!

Who is going home tonight???  My bet is either Carson Kressley or Elisabetta Canalis.

Days of our Lives-Monday 9/26

Today was the beginning of the new Days of our Lives.  We have gotten rid of some bad characters and have brought some old ones back.  Not sure what to make of Carrie and Austin coming back since Sami is now happily with Rafe, but as usual, I'm looking forward to Jack, John and Marlena.

The show started off with the presentation of the new Horton Town Square.  To me, it sounds like its just a mall but its supposed to look like you are outdoors.  But, there is a roof.  Not what I think of when I think of a town square, but its soap-world and nothing makes sense.  Everyone in Salem was there and EJ had his date, Patti Stanger (Millionaire Matchmaker, which she said multiple times throughout the show).  You can tell he wants to get back together with Nicole, but after killing her mother and cheating on her with her sister, I'm sure she'll say yes!!

The reveal of the returns was fun to watch, but probably would've been more interesting if I hadn't read about it everywhere.  Its hard to keep that a secret when its on every Soap Opera magazine in the grocery aisle.  I do hope that it rejuvenates the show and we get back to some good storytelling.

Recap-Week of Sept 19 to Sept 23

Today I am going to do a quick recap of the shows from last week and starting tonight, I will blog each show every week.

DWTS-It was the first dance for all the couples.  It was interesting to see who had any kind of dance experience and who was like a fish out of water.  I am rooting for Rob Kardashian and Nancy Grace.  I wasn't surprised that Ron Artest was sent home, however, I think Elisabetta Canalis wasn't that far behind in the votes.  Carson Kressley was absolutely hilarious dancing to "Moves Like Jagger" since he could probably pass as him if he had dark hair.  I'm pretty sure he'll be a blast to watch for as long as he lasts.

Castle-LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this show!!  Finally was able to delete all of last season from my DVR once my Season 3 DVD set came in the mail.  I knew from the beginning that Beckett remembered everything that happened.  You could just tell from her face in the hospital.  I like how Alexis tried to attack the boyfriend for being mean to her dad.  She's got some spunk.  I am interested in seeing how the 'mystery man' with the info from Capt. Montgomery is going to play in Beckett's mothers murder.  However, I am expecting the final reveal of Johanna Beckett's murderer to be fantastic.  They have so much built up in it since the Capt. was outed as being involved.  I'm not sure how they are going to top that.  Maybe it was Castle, Ryan, or Esposito who did it???  That's just me talking, no spoiler that I know of!! ;)

Criminal Minds-Having watched Criminal Minds all last season, I wasn't surprised (unlike my sister) that Prentiss was still alive.  After reading some information about what was going to be going on this season once the show re-signed JJ and Prentiss, I knew that her 'death' was going to be a focal part of the show, I just thought they were going to drag it out a little bit longer than the first episode.  I wish it was with a little more fanfare than her just showing up at the BAU.  But I did enjoy the look on Ian Doyle's face when she walked into the interrogation room.  I also enjoyed Dr. Reid when he was testifying.  "This is calm, and it's Dr."  Great comeback!  I'm looking forward to the dynamic that is going to play out this season among the cast members.

Grey's Anatomy-The season premiere was so-so for me.  It didn't really reveal anything new to us.  Obviously McDreamy was going to continue to be a McAss to Meredith.  Richard seems to be an issue with this couple throughout the whole series and he has played a part again.  They keep flip-flopping back and forth between who likes him and who hates him and when.  I did like how he covered for Meredith at the end, even though it wasn't a surprise to me.  Derek just needs to get over himself and deal with it.  Sure she lied, but it was to save the wife of the Chief.  The rest of the show was fun to watch but no big fireworks.  I do like the chemistry between Cristina and Alex.  Cristina pissed is a fun thing to watch.

Jersey Shore-I don't know why I continue to watch this week after week, but its like a train wreck.  You know its coming and its going to be horrible, but you just can't take your eyes off of it.  There are two ways that all of their problems could be solved: 1. QUIT DRINKING 2. GROW UP!!  Snooki has a decent looking guy who flew all the way to Italy to see her and what does she do??  Gets drunk and lifts up her skirt in front of him and everyone in the bar.  I can understand Jionni being pissed at that, I'd be pissed too.  And listening to Snooki scream and cry for the rest of the episode was enough for me to want to stick spoons in my ears until my eardrums fall out.

Days of our Lives-The past week has pretty much been a wrap up of some horrible storylines while we prepare ourselves for the arrival of Jack, Carrie, Austin, John and Marlena.  Carly and Dario are gone, Chloe and Kinsey are wrapping up their storylines and some interesting new ones are on the horizon.  The good thing is that the storylines have sucked for so long, that anything new they do will actually be an improvement.  Looking forward to hearing John say "That's a fact!"  Oh, I've missed that one!
